Doing my lil bit

I have compiled a list of 20 things to do (or not do) on a daily basis so as to help save electricity thereby saving fuel thereby saving the environment. I am doing my little bit here in my little corner and encourage you to do what you can.

I resolve that I will:

1. Watch two (instead of all five) local newscast per evening and keep the television off otherwise
2. Listen to radio less (there is hardly anything good on there anyways)
3. Not put on all the living area lights as if am about to play a floodlight cricket match
4. Watch the always gorgeous sunset more often, thereby watch television less
5. Turn off wireless router when not in use
6. Turn off water cooler when not at home
7. Only put on lights when it is actually dark
8. Not leave televisions on when not actually watching
9. Not leave bathroom, bedroom and study lights on when not actually using those rooms
10. Rely on breeze more, thereby use fans less (be nice mother nature, cooperate)
11. Unplug stove when not cooking (I’ve been pretty good at this over the years)
12. Unplug microwave when not using (also been good with this over the years)
13. Turn off fans when not in use. You’d be amazed how often and how long the fans are on around here without cooling a human being.
14. Read more books, magazines etc, thereby watch television less (so many books and magazines are just collecting dust around here while I mindlessly watch television)
15. Stop buying all four newspapers everyday and read them online. (If more people who have internet access stopped buying the daily newspapers and read the articles online the newspaper companies would use less newsprint (paper) and less electricity to print newspapers thereby saving fuel, trees and the environment. Am online anyways so might as well use the time to read the newspapers here than a hardcopy.)
16. Let my phone battery run lower more often, thereby charge it less
17. Spend less time online (at least an hour less each day and I have been doing this successfully for some time)
18. Go for more walks, thereby allowing myself less time to be online or watch television
19. Use stove instead of microwave when possible
20. Actually stick, as far as humanly possible, to these resolutions
