Abt Imran

Hassan grandson from Vergenoegen is a Guyanese country boy who dabbles in media relations, cricket* and some other things which can only be described as ‘stuff’ when away from his fantasy full-time profession as an expert taster of Guyanese cuisine while moonlighting as an amateur angler in the various trenches of the Guyana backdams and rivers in the hinterland. Thus far large fish have been dispiritingly uncooperative which is curiously strange in what is the Cooperative Republic of Guyana but he vows to persist until he lands that elusive 20 foot Arapaima somewhere in the Rewa river.

In the words of former Australian captain Ian Chappell (on worldwide television commentary nonetheless) he does bear some resemblance to Imran Khan, the former Pakistan captain and international playboy, in that “they both have two arms and two legs”.

Feel free to dig about this blog for clues as to thoughts and views he may or may not have on other matters but be warned that nothing may come of it or you may be terribly disappointed.

*Mostly from the press box, though in a 2005 fete match one scorebook entry does read: Some Unfortunate Batsman c Viv Richards b Imran Khan.
